Michael Black is a Director in PwC’s Deals Strategy team based in Toronto where he helps private companies develop and achieve their organic and inorganic growth goals. By working directly with C-suite executives, business owners, Boards of Directors and Management teams in business strategy development, Michael has proven ability to identify future growth levers to achieve a competitive advantage, enhance organizational performance and increase enterprise value. During his time at PwC, Michael was one of the catalyst hires to launch the Canadian Deals Strategy practice and was one of the founders of the firm’s cannabis practice to advise the burgeoning domestic and international industries. To date, Michael has worked on a number of strategic advisory mandates with businesses either participating in or exploring the cannabis industry to solve their strategic and growth issues in a dynamic and quickly evolving environment. Michael’s clients include: licensed producers, adjacent industries such as pharmaceutical and alcohol companies, retailer distributors and ancillary businesses. Michael holds a Bachelor of Science (Biochemistry, Molecular Biology and Music) and Master of Business Administration from Dalhousie University in Halifax, NS.
