Evan Nison is the youngest member of the board of NORML, and sits on the Board of Directors of Students for Sensible Drug Policy. He also runs a cannabis specific PR firm, NisonCo, which works with many industry leaders from across the globe and manages over 1,700 active relationships with reporters that cover cannabis. In 2016 he helped launch Whoopi & Maya, a women-centric medical cannabis company with actress Whoopi Goldberg and edible maker Maya Elisabeth and currently acts as its CFO.
While in college, he took a semester off to move to California to run the college outreach effort for Prop 19 in California, which spanned over 40 schools. He was President of Ithaca Students for Sensible Drug Policy for 4 years, which was rated the #1 college drug law reform chapter in the country in 2011, and under his leadership passed one of the first college policies in the country that equalized penalties for cannabis and alcohol on campus. Evan was also instrumental in the passage of the New York 911 Good Samaritan Law and a US Conference of Mayors resolution supporting the legalization of marijuana. During the 2016 US Presidential Election, Evan pressed Hillary Clinton for her stance on marijuana legalization on Good Morning America during a live town hall event.
